An end user created beautiful visualizations using an imported spreadsheet into SQL. Is there anyway to seamlessly switch the data source from Excel to an SQL Server Query?
The query from the imported spreadsheet was named 'Sheet1'. I tried renaming it to 'OldSheet1' and naming the SQL Server query 'Sheet1', but the visualizations lost all the data. When I clicked on the 'Fix This' button on each visualization, the visualization simply disappeared.
Thanks in advance!
So, create a new query that connects to the SQL Server. Make sure that all the column names and such are the same. Go into Advanced Editor and copy the Source line. Go into the Excel query, into Advanced Editor and replace the Source line there, maybe the navigation step as well. As long as the query stays the same name and all the columns, you should be OK.
