Changing order of clustered column graph

I want to change the order that the Position fields appear in on the Axis of a Clustered Column graph.

Currently they just appear in alphabetical order. I want to be able to specify a particular order.

Is this possible?

@aeyre_ppba

You can create another column to define the order as you desired. Then use the Sory By function.

Please refer to following documents and thread. Please also let me know if you still have problem on it.

Hi - I already had an additional field that I was going to use as the Sort By.

However, when I select that field, the Sort By Column remains greyed out - I can't apply it.

Why would that be?

@aeyre_ppba

Do you have any update about it?

Best Regards,
Herbert

Hi Herbert

I've tried what you suggested but it hasn't been successful. How do I send you the pbix file?

@aeyre_ppba

You can share the PBIX file through online file service and send the sharing link here or through private message.

Best Regards,
Herbert

I have sent a private message to you.

Thanks

@aeyre_ppba

Please try to create another table to define the order for different roles, then create relationship with the original table as below.

Make the Pos column sorted by Num column.

Use Pos column instead of the Position column in the chart.

Could you please make sure that you only select the Position column before clicking the Sort By button?

If issue still persists, could you please share your PBIX file through online file service like OneDrive?

Best Regards,
Herbert
