Changing data source from excel file to Sharepoint of already created report

Hi there,

I am facing the following issue - I created two Power BI reports linked to excel file on my C://, but from now on I have to start using Sharepoint only, so I need to change the data source to Sharepoint. Moved the initial excel file from C:// to Sharepoint, but how to change the path in order not to crash the already created reports?

Thanks:)

@Plamen,

1. Create a new query that points to your SharePoint file in Power BI Desktop.
2. Copy the code(Source line) of the new query in Advanced Editor.
3. Go to your existing query of Excel and replace the  source code in the Advanced Editor with copied code in Step 2.

I have the same issue and understand the steps described but how do I pull the data from the excel stored on the Sharepoint? (Create a new query that points to your SharePoint file in Power BI Desktop. ). I've seen this post that says to use Get Data> Web (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Import-Data-from-an-Excel-sheet-in-SharePoint/td-p/47223)

When I try to do that I get:Error.PNG

Is there a better way to do this?

Thank you!
