Change sorting axis [horizontal] - Clustered column vistualizaction

Hi there,

So am traying to visualize total sales and last week prev. sales in a clustered column chart.

However, the x-axis is giving me some headache with the sorting.

I need to show x-axis sorting as the following:

1. Week 1-2020

2. Week 2-2020

3. Week 3-2020... and so on...

Thanks in advanced!

JQ 😁

Hi,

Please make this x-axis field sort by [WeekNo] columns, or you can add an index column in Query Editor and make this x-axis field sort by [Index] column.

The result shows:

See my attached pbix file.

Hey @JoseQ ,

I assume you are aware of this, so, just in case:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/end-user-change-sort

This article describes how you can sort the values of a column by another column:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-sort-by-column

and this is the specific section in the article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-sort-by-column#sort-using-the-sort-...

Hopefully, this helps to tackle your challenge.

Regards,

Tom

Hi there,

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately the link provided does not explain how to sort when you have week tied to year. I understand that the logic is to create a sorting based on a continuous number (e.g. month name by month number) but in my scenario I tried to sort week-year by week-no and still didn't work.

Thnks tho,

JQ
