Change language in date (year, month, day)

Hi,

how can I change language of the herarchical date values in UI?

It's in Polish right now and I would like to change it to English.  Is it even possible?

I've changed language in regional settings from Polish to English but it did not have any effect.

I'm stuck, please help.

Hi @joannakrajewska

Based on your description, the datetime field is stored in English format, however, it shows in Polish format when you drag it to visuals. It is a strange behavior.

Would you mind sharing me the JSON file? I would test it in my Desktop.

Thanks,

Lydia Zhang

I cannot share the json file, it contains too much private data.

Anyway, I think everything is OK with the file itself beacuse when I create new project and new data source (pointed to the same file) everything is English.

(The data differs a bit because it's not exactly the same chart - the filtering differs)

It just looks like regional settings do not update for old projects.

Hi,

Do we have any solution for this problem. It seems that Power BI Desktop is using date time hierarchy values (year, quarter, month, day) language according installed Power BI Desktop language in initial .pbix file and it is not possible to change.

What if I have one report that needs to be displayed in two languages and this report contains date time values in date time hierarchy. I should have installed two Power BI Desktops in two different languages and also creating the report for each language?

Suggested language settings in File -> Options -> Regional Settings does not apply.

Thank you,

Rado

I have the same problem. My PowerBI is in english and my cliente speaks portuguese. And I have other clients in english. So, when I extract the month from the date, it gives me month in english. It ignored the locale from Brazil.
