Change gauge to reflect outstanding data

Capture.PNG

In the viz above, the target amount is £264,100, of which £61,400 is still remaining. What I want to show is the bar with the remaining value to be greyed out and on the right hand side and the remining value (£61,400) to continue to show as it is currently. Below is how the fields list is currently laid out...and ideas??

Hi @mbrierley,

How about using 100% stacked bar instead of gauge? where the darker stack is the current standing and  the lighter is the remaining portion. This can be achieved using a helper table and a measure.

That is pretty much what I need @danextian ....but is it not possible to have it in a gauge like that?

I would like to know if that is possible but right now i don't have power bi desktop with me. Also, I tend to shy away from custom visuals unless the native ones and some DAX and PQ tricks can't suffice my reporting needs.

Regardless, I think that is something that I can work with, much appreciated @danextian. If you did find a way to get that done in gauge though, I'd be really interested to know how you do it 🙂

Hi @mbrierley,

I'm afraid this requirement is not achievable. To show the remaining value on the right hand of the guage which is greyed out you can add the result (total-remaining) to "Value" section. But the data label (£61,400)  won't be shown.

Is it possible to put some colour on the greyed out segment?
