I want to use the shared Power BI datasets with my reports.
Right now they all connect to SSAS Tabular, but I want to make a shared dataset and then connect the dataset to SSAS and the reports to the dataset.
I can't change the connection for the existing reports that connect to SSAS. I can change the SSAS server name but not the connection type.
Is there anyway to do this?
If you are saying a Power BI Live dataset, not so sure, probably create a new one, connect it and copy and paste visuals.
Yes.
I have PBI reports that connect to SSAS Tabular.
I made a new empty report (dataset) that connects to that same SSAS Tabular server.
I want to update all my reports to use that new dataset that I published.
I was hoping I could just change the connection in the reports or maybe edit the report file's connection string, etc....
Good suggestion on making a new and copying over, I'll test that as well.
As far as I know, it is not yet supported. To help improve Power BI, share feedback via Ideas.
