Change Specific Decimals to End in .5 or rounds up to be a Whole Number

hi guys,

need a hand in creating a forumla that takes decimal numbers and changes them so that it ends in .5 or rounds up to a whole number.

I need to make target goals in 40% and 60% over the year and when i do those calculations using the 40% and 60% they come out as decimals but we only use .5 for halves.

here are the conditions:

  • if between N.1 and N.4 then be N.5
  • if between N.6 and N.9 then be N+1

e.g if a persons target is 24, 40% would be 9.6 i want to be able to round that number up as its above .5 so it would be 10

any ideas?

You can use the CEILING function for that.
