Change Date Hierarchy to Month on X-AXIS

Hi,

I have the below clustered column graph with a trend line, how do I go about showing this on a month-by-month basis rather than daily.

When you drag date in visual you actual have all 4 hierarchy items. Go to visualization pane and remove the columns that are not required. Or you can create a month-year column and use that for display.

Thanks for your response.

 

I have noticed by creating the custom column two issues arise:

 

1. I lose the trend line

2. The months are sorted alphabetically and not based on period.

You could create another column like below to sort month-year column

'Table (3)'[Column1].[Year]*100+'Table (3)'[Column1].[MonthNo]

 In addition, if you want to get trend line, you could try to set this like below
