Hi
I was wondering, I have a big PBIX file, with many pages. I then create another PBIX with a subset of those pages. The trouble with this is if I add measures to one, or model changes, I have to make to the other pbix file. Is there a way in PowerBI Desktoip that I can have a central pbix file with the model and all measures, and additional pbix files connect to it? So in essence, I have a 'central point of truth' and not multiple versions of models with various measures floating around?
Thanks in advance.
John

Hi @johnmelbourne ,
Connecting to datasets in the Power BI service from Power BI Desktop should work for your scenario

Thanks! That is what I am after.
Keep one .PBIX but create different dashboards as per your requirement (subsets) after publishing.
Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Yes that is what I am after. How do you do it?
I want a central document with the model, and other pbix files access that model. A bit like a split access database front end / back end situation.
Keep .pbix file same with all database connectivity and publish that report.
In power Bi services you see that in report section...now while publishing the page you can create new dashboards and for that dashboard give access as per priority.
