I have a list of random items:
Stapler
Coffee Mug
Goggles
Gloves
Pencil
I want to categorise the items to show in a pie chart:
Office Equipment
Safety Equipment
Stapler = Office Equipment
Coffee Mug = Office Equipment
Goggles = Satefy Equipment
Gloves = Safety Equipment
Pencil = Office Equipment
Can anyone help me please?

@johnbradbury,
Group your columns as shown in the first screenshot, then create the pie chart as shown in the second screenshot.

Hey @johnbradbury,
Grouping is definitely supported in Power BI Desktop. Check out the article here.
Hope this helps,
Alan
Partially.
It allowed me to group but it's getting the numbers wrong on the piechart, everything is equal. It seems to be calculating the total number of items.
It's the same using a card to try and get the total number of a specific category.
Any further thoughts from anyone?
@johnbradbury,
Group your columns as shown in the first screenshot, then create the pie chart as shown in the second screenshot.
