I am investigating a situation where I am trying to connect to SSAS MD cube using live connect in my Power BI desktop. The tricky part to this is that I am able to connect to the cube on the server but it won't load any dimensions/measure groups in the Filter area of a Power BI desktop file and it would just show the loading icon in the Filter area.
The details of the versions are -
Has anyone come across such an issue for the above version of SSAS MD? If so, what's the resolution to this?
It works fine for me when I connect to a cube on SSAS 2016.

As confirmed with Product Team, the DataPump connection for SSAS is not supported today. So don't use http access to connect SSAS data source.

If DataPump connections are not supported, how do we (our clients) connnect to the cubes that are not necessarily in their domain?
Do you know any workarounds or point me to any post/discussions around this?
