Hi,
I was wondering if I came accross a bug, a limitation / missing feature, or if it's a user (me) problem.
I design reports connected to datasets previously designed by IT professionnal data modelers. I have no problem with the measures they created in the datasets but I'm unable to access any of my local measures when trying to include them into a textbox narrative.
I read in this forum that we had to activate certain option for it to work but it seems like I'm confronted with the same issue; it's complaining about being connected to an external data model.
So, is this a limitation when using datasets ? Have you seen a feature request for it ? I feel dataset users are common in the business, no?
Thanks

Hi @molegris ,
Excuse me, what is your data source, what do my local measures and the measures they created in the datasets refer to respectively.
You can check this link, which has smart-narrative restrictions:

Hi @v-yangliu-msft ,
Dataset is a type of object on Power BI Services (Connect to datasets in the Power BI service from Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs). In my organisation, IT professionals create and publish datasets that include standardized DAX formulas for most common meaures in our business. Then other content creators accross the organisation connect to the datasets to design their own reports. When you design a report connected to a dataset, you have access to the measures created inside that dataset (I call them the remote measures). But you can also add new measure of your own; those local measures then belong to the local data model which resides inside your pbix file.
I found that the narrative feature have access to the remote measures but not to the local ones.
I didn't find anything about that specific limitation in the link you provided.
regards.
