Can you go back and add SQL Statement after connecting to data?

I'm working with a client who wants to build their own reports and not very sql savvy. They want to see a preview of the tables then go back and add a sql statement after they know what's in the table, so they actually just connect without loading. The tables are typically huge so not wanting to import it all in to Power BI then limit the data.SQL statement connection window.png
I was going to give them some SQL statement examples for them to use.
Excuse me if this is obvious, can you go back to the sql statement entry at the time of connection to enter the SQL Statement after you've connected?

Hi @electrobrit , you can go to Power Query Editor -> select the query -> double click Source in Applied Steps (or click the gear icon beside it), then you will see the window where you can enter SQL statements.

@v-jingzhang Thank you!
That's what I would think, except oddly it was connected and didn't show like that so I questioned. However, now I can't recreate it at all. Maybe it was a "funky" load. Thank you again.

@electrobrit , Go to Data Transformation/ Edit Query Mode.

Right click on the table name, Open Advance editor, check do you see SQL there?

Well, was looking for the SQL Statement entry area you get when connecting (from my screenshot). If they add sql, yes you can see it in the advanced editor. If they want to review the tables and not add sql then  I think the only way they can do it is having a second connection. So one, they can preview the table and the other where they are actually importing the data.
