In visualisations we can give a titel to the whole object.
The names in colums or in the legend are taken from the fieldnames (or the names of the measures).
Can they be different so that the text can be shorter (or easier to read).
For example: I have to count the number of male and female persons (staffmembers) in the organisation, in the selection (by department, jobtitle, ..) and calculate a percentage MF. As I need thowe numbers also in other calculations, i'v defined different measures (with long names). As there are other sources (lets say customers) where I've to do the same calculations, I've to add the name of the source in the measurename.
So I'm usings names like CountMaleStaffInSelection, CountMaleStaffInCompany, CountFemaleCustomerInSelection, CountFemaleCustomerInCompany.
In a visual I'm using the title 'StaffMembers : Gender : Count of Persons' and I would like to see columnname like MaleInSelection, FemaleInSelection, MaleInCompany, ...
How can I achieve this?
PS The same problem exists in graphical visualisations because the same (long) names are used in the legend and/or tooltips
Hi there,
The only way to achieve this is renaming the name of columns and measures in your datamodel.
This will have an effect on the all the other measures and columns you have created based on this columns/measures. However, PBI automatically picks up the newly created names in other measures too which are dependent on those columns/measures. There is no alternate way to achieve this.
Thanks & Regards,
