Hi,
We have a report with 2 tabs, 1 tab is a summary report contains the a slicer (parent program code has values p1,p2,p3) with dynamic values and 2nd tab shows the Individual level (Child data based on the parent program codes values selected in the 1st tab). In the 2nd tab there are multiple slicers. These slicer values seems to be persistant. We have Reset button in the second tab however if user forgets to click on the reset and go back to the first tab and changes the selection then whatever made earlier slicer values remains the same and even though he changes the program codes it will result no data because of the earlier selection values persistant. This is the problem. Customer expects that while changing the parent program code values only if any selection made at the 2nd tab slicers should reset the filter and result the data as per the selection.
I know the book mark concept using button however here the ask is Rest filers should happen when change of slicer values. Can anyone throw some light on achieving the possibility of this. Really appreciate your suggestion and help on this.
@Surekha As far as I know there still isn't a way for this to happen automatically. You could vote for the idea in PowerBI Ideas.
A couple ideas for workarounds, in addition to what you've done already with bookmarks:
1) Use hierarchical slicer and 'sync slicers'. If you put the Parent and Child values in the same slicer, then sync across both pages, changing the parent value will change the child filters, and will apply to both pages.
2) Use page navigation in your bookmarks - you could hide the child page and make it possible to get there only through using a bookmark that resets the child slicers (you can select just those slicers and apply the bookmark to selected visuals only).

Thanks Allison for providing the work around and providing the different options. Much appreciated. Tried the approaches but no luck.
@Surekha I think hierarchical slicer would be the best workaround, why did you have no luck with that one? The data has to be related directly (ideally in same table, but could be cascading relationship).
For example, this works because all the date fields (Year, Quarter, Month) are in the same table:
If you try to add two fields from different tables that aren't DIRECTLY related, you'll get an error:

Thanks Allison for your reply. In two tabs we have parent and child fields . First tab those 2 are visible to the user and 2nd tab those are hidden and synced. Till this part its good. Apart from those 2 fields in the 2nd tab there are other fields like name, date of birth , ids etc. These needs to be reset as when the parent code changes. Whatever the selection made for the name for the parent code 1 may not be valid for the parent code 2. This is the case. Using book marks we achieved partially. Earlier we used those 2 buttons as page navigation and now we made them as books marks and 2nd tab filter values gets reset when they move to the 1st tab irrespective of change of values in the parent code. We proposed this solution to the customer and we are yet to hear from them the feedback.
