Can't see or edit model object properties

In one of my PBIX files I'm not able to edit or see anything in "Properties" panel. All other files work fine, but for this one properties disappeared suddently. Object is selected and I'm in PBIX file that contains the data and properties pane only shows "Select one or more model objects to set their properties"

This is also happeing for me when i go to the model view and click on a table or field but the properties panel remain blank.
e.g. below selected table property does not display so I can not switch over from direct query to import mode etc.
@Tlusis has your issue been fixed or did you raise a power bi pro support ticket?

The same was happening to one of my files yesterday. The model is not using DirectQuery.

The behaviour you described was only displayed in the mentioned file. Model object properties worked as intended in all other files, so it seemed like a file specific issue.

The fix I've found is to open the file and to instantly click on a field in the modeling view, without waiting for the whole project to load. The properties table should now be working as intended.

@Tlusis , I see this screen when I open the model view first time after opening the direct query file. Once I click anything on the field I do not see this message.

@amitchandakyup that is the normal state, but I have objects selected and still stays the same. Does not matter which object I select...

@Tlusis weird, can you create a new page in the report, add a visual and see if properties shows up? Just an idea, maybe file is corrupt.

@parry2k Tried creating pages / visuals / new page in "Model" part of PowerBI, publishing dataset & downloading that file.

Nothing helps... Very weird bug, been working with PowerBI for a few years now, first time this happens 🙂

@Tlusis yes, it is surely weird. I think the file is corrupt but as suggested by @Greg_Deckler and also I would recommend, open a support ticket.

@Greg_Deckler DirectQuery.

@Tlusis - I'm going to guess that is the issue unless you have other DirectQuery reports where you can see that information. If this is the case, You could check the Issues forum here:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

@Greg_DecklerWill try opening support ticket.

I have quite a few DirectQuery reports and for all of those it's all fine and I can see & edit properties... First time see such case.
