I'm very new to Power BI and am creating a report for a team check-in survey we do every two weeks. The data are collected through Microsoft Forms and I was able to set up a flow so that whenever new responses are submitted they get added to a dataset that I created. This dataset lives in our team workspace.
I can click on it there and start building a report and confirm that the responses are coming through, but I would like to use the Desktop application to build this report, as I need to combine this new dataset with the historical data and I can't see a way to do more complex data prep with the online version.
In the Desktop app I go to Get Data > Power Platform > Power BI datasets. I get shown a list of datasets that is shared with me but my dataset is not listed there.
Am I looking in the wrong place? Or is there a setting that I need to change?
Thanks for your help

The problem was that even though I was on a Pro license, the workspace that I was using was not. We have now upgraded the workspace and I am able to access the dataset.

Hi @naledi_h ,
The list format only displays the datasets of this workspace, not the datasets from other workspaces. The view format displays all datasets.

@naledi_h One more point that you need remember that you can't use multiple datasets to build a new report. Your old and new data should reside in the same dataset then only you can build your report with historical information.

Thank you for your suggestions.
@mahoneypat I can see the following options when clicking on the dataset. Selecting edit brings me to the initial configuration screen for the streaming dataset, where I configured the fields and enabled historical data analysis. The managing permissions screen just tells me that my team is the owner. I have added myself just in case and given myself all permissions I could (read, reshare, build).
I also went through the options from the top menu settings and couldn't see anything that would help. Where would I find the settings that you are referring to?
@amitchandak Yes, I am starting a new Power BI file and I am connected. I can see other datasets that are shared withing my organisation.
@naledi_h , Hope you are opening that in an empty power bi file. And You are logged in in power bi desktop with same login
Look at the settings for the dataset in the service and make sure there is not an allow export option that is turned off.

Pat
