Can't refer to column in SEARCH function DAX

Hi,

I'm having trouble creating a variable in measure with the SEARCH function because it doesn't detect the column I'm trying to reference. I've changed the column type to TEXT but it still doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

@Anonymous you should understand the difference between Measure and calculated columns in case you don't know it already. There are many posts on it.

@amitchandak @parry2k Hi, I understand that I need to use an aggregation but I'm trying out a solution from the web and they can directly reference the table. Why can't I replicate what they did?

@Anonymous , A measure can take measure or aggregated column , so what you can do is

put this in filter

if(isblank(Countx(filter(findingdetails,search("O",findingdetails[Answer],,0)>0), findingdetails[Answer])) ,0,1)

or

if(Countx(filter(findingdetails,search("O",findingdetails[Answer],,0)>0), findingdetails[Answer])+0 =0 ,0,1)

@Anonymous you are create measure and you cannot use column directly in a measure, it has to use with some aggregation.

change 'FindingDetails'[Answer] to MIN('FindingDetails'[Answer] )
