Can't Login - "you dont seem to have an account with power BI"

Hi there,

So I have an account with power BI (I can login online), but when I go to sign in on desktop after entering my password I get the error: "you dont seem to have an account with power BI". If i follow the prompt to register I get told that I already have an account and cannot create a new one.

Is there a way to delete my old account (there is nothing saved to it)? Or better yet is there a fix to this problem?

PS I know there was an older question that was "solved" but this solution was just that it was fixed by the July update. I downloaded power BI in January 2018 so this "solution" isn't adequate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I could log in with my Power BI account in Power BI Desktop Jan 2018 release.

For your problem, please try:

• Clear the cache, restart the desktop and sign in again.
• Sign in with a different account in your computer to see whether issue persists.
• Uninstall and reinstall Power BI desktop for a test.
