Can a Report have multiple date calculations?

I'm new to Power BI and trying to understand the logic with the reports.

If I have a report in Power BI Desktop, and I use slicers for date (I created a date table with multiple values such as Date, Year, Quarter...IsCurrentYear, IsToday, etc.) can I display for example a bar graph showing monthly sales in comparision to previous periods...and also the daily sales?

I'm able to display the previous monthly sales by using the slicers and say current year...then if I insert another slicer for "istoday" and select "true" then it will bring my graph down to showing only today...when I want a chart showing today sales in one...and yearly sales in another.

Would I have to create reports and then a dashboard in the Power BI Online to do this?

Thanks!

Re: Can a Report have multiple date calculations?

Hi @unclejemima,

If I understand you correctly, it could be done. You may need to create a new measure for calculating today's sales, using some formula similar like below. Then add it to your bar graph. Smiley Happy

Sales Today =
IF (
    HASONEVALUE ( 'Table1'[IsToday] ),
    IF ( VALUES ( 'Table1'[IsToday] ) = TRUE (), [Total Sales] )
)
