Can Power BI do this? [Insert ticker symbol & data returned]

Good afternoon everyone,

Below is an sample of a mini-dashboard our firm uses in Excel.  We type the ticker symbol in, and the rest of the Excel spreadsheet populates the data pretaining to that ticker symbol.  

Question:

Does Power BI have any feature where end-user can type ticker symbol into dashboard & have the dashboard return data pretaining to that ticker symbol?  If not, any recommended alternatives/paths/tips??

There currently isn't a visual (at least to my knowledge) that would act as a text box input filter.  However as fhill said, you could create a table of ticker symbols and provide a filter for users to scroll through.  OR...  you could download the Smart Filter by OKViz. This custom visual allows you to have a dataset with values to select from the drop-down or the user could type into the area above the drop-down to search that value. See screenshot below for example.

You coudl easily do a Drop Down Slicer of Tickers...  The user would have to scroll thru (a potentially) long list, but it would be the easist to build... Forrest
