Can I incorporate live queries to a machine learning model in a PowerBI report?

Let's say I have a machine learning model that's sat listening to a REST endpoint. I want to be able to select some parameters (ideally using slicers), and have PowerBI hit the endpoint with those parameters and display the prediction that's returned in a table visual.

Is such a thing possible? I'm pretty confident that I could do it using the Web datasource and Query Parameters, but that would't be responsive or intuitive enough for an end user to be able to use the report effectively.

Yes you can do that. Follow this steps to incoporate Power BI with AI:

  • Create a dataflow with the input data
  • Create and train a machine learning model
  • Review the model validation report
  • Apply the model to a dataflow entity
  • Using the scored output from the model in a Power BI report

That's not really what I'm after unfortunately; I already have the model trained and hosted elsewhere, and I want to pass data to that existing model to fetch predictions based on selected values in slicers. I'm not looking to train a new model through PowerBI.

Thanks
