Can I apply filters before "run" my Direct Query?

I'm using direct query to view my data.

In SSRS we choose filters then run report, Can we do something like this in powerbi?
I believe that will reduce considerably my dataset.

In Power BI desktop,  there is a Query Parameter feature for us to do query filter. For more information, please see below links:
