Calling a web service from options in drop down

I would like to know is it possible in Power BI To have a parameter for example at the report level with the name of the person and according to that parameter it will call its associated web service(The related results).

I am using a web service that looks like below, we can change the name and it returns different result. Note the link is just any example

http://crmsales.azurewebsites.net/GetPowerBIDataSourceCalculatedAverages?name=Sami%20James

Returns:

<AMName>Sami James</AMName>
<AverageProbabilityClosetoWon>72</AverageProbabilityClosetoWon>
<AverageProbabilityDeveloptoSolution>85</AverageProbabilityDeveloptoSolution>
<AverageProbabilityProoftoClose>84</AverageProbabilityProoftoClose>
<AverageTimeProspecttoQuailfy>20</AverageTimeProspecttoQuailfy>
<AverageTimeQuailfytoDevelop>3</AverageTimeQuailfytoDevelop>
<AverageTimeSolutiontoProof>9</AverageTimeSolutiontoProof>
</PowerBICalculatedAverages>

Hi @myou,

You cannot have parameters at report level in Power BI.

However, to achieve solution of your problem, i would suggest you to watch this video. I have a strong vibe that it will help you 🙂

Cheers !!
