Calendar in 1 table or multiple??

I work for a company that takes(hires) on clients on a specific date and I have a date column for that table.within that table

We also create tickets and do other things throughout the day as well.. Do I need to create another Calendar column within this table?

Hey @agdavidson91,

it depends on the grain of your data and your reporting/analytics patterns. If the smallest bit of your infomation is kept at day level and you accept that every task and step you do within that day will be in that same record and under the same day without lets say a certain distinction by hour/minute then you could leave it to one column.

The rule of thumb is that every process should have its own FactTable. You could distinct process by their content, grain and time they are created.

If this post was helpful may I ask you to mark it as solution and give it a 'thumbs up'? This will also help others

Have a nice day!
