I have sales data for a year for different stores and dfifferent products. I wish to calculate average sales on basis of weekday i.e if today is Wednesday, today's average would be the average sales of last 4 wednesdays.
I could do that by creating 4 different tables with dates and sales number but it makes the work so troublesome and slow.
Try something like this with Date Calendar
Rolling 4 week same week day = CALCULATE(sum(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESINPERIOD('Date'[Date],MAX(Sales[Sales Date]),-28,Day),filter(Date, WeekDay('Date'[Date])=max( WeekDay('Date'[Date]))))
To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :

Sample data would be great. If you have a weeknum column (WEEKNUM) this should be relatively straight-forward. https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Quick-Measures-Gallery/Rolling-Weeks/m-p/391694#M128
