Calculating ratio at row level

Hi,

A Power BI novice needs an advice. I hope the screenshot gives a good idea what I want to achieve.

The questions are:

1. How to calculate the loss ratio using DAX

2. How to show the ratio in % while the rest is in $

The raw data looks like below

Thank you in advance!

Lin

I am sure there are way smarter ways to do it than this, but this is the way I would go. 🙂

Because I am having issues haven some lines that are calculated, and some lines that are not, i find it easier to calculate each line. This helps make it look more like the result you want.

I would make 4 meassures like this.

Earned Premium = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Amount]);
FILTER('Table';'Table'[Item]="Earned Premium")
)

Incurred Losses = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Amount]);
FILTER('Table';'Table'[Item]="Incurred Losses")
)

Technical Result = [Earned Premium] - [Incurred Losses]

Loss Ratio = [Incurred Losses] / [Earned Premium]

At the Tab called Modeling, you can change the format for each meassure you have made, so some can be in USD, and others in %.

The finally select the Matrix, and set Country under Columns, and alle 4 meassure under value, then click the pencel, and under values, check "Show on rows" as on.

Hope this will help. 🙂
