Calculate growth based on count rather than sum

Hello,

I'm stuck in the following scenario:

Have a table like this:

IDCodeDate FromDate To
14453049Athlete18/10/2016
14453051Athlete18/10/201612/08/2019
14453056Athlete18/10/2016
14452973Athlete17/10/2016
14452979Athlete17/10/2016
14452984Athlete17/10/2016
14452990Athlete17/10/2016
14452994Athlete17/10/201620/12/2018
14453008Athlete17/10/201627/06/2018
14453011Athlete17/10/2016

I need to calculate number of new athletes based on date from and gone athletes based on date to and somehow calculate the monthly growth. Which functions I would need to use to achieve this? Any help appreciated.
