Hi all,
I would like to compare my production to my budget in different months by different projects. I would like to make a graph to compare the production per month to the budget per month per project. Now for my date the production per month isn't a problem. For the budget i'm having troubles getting the right format for my data.
What my data looks like for the production:
Project X - date - hours - spend budget
Example:
Project xyz - 31-03-2019 - 4 - 400
Project xyz - 01-04-2019 - 7 - 700
Project 123 - 01-05-2019 - 8 - 800
Project 123 - 02-05-2019 - 8 - 800
What my date looks like for the budget:
Project X - Startdate - enddate - budget for the periode (less then 1 year)
Example
Salesproject XYZ - 01-01-2019 - 31-12-2019 - 12.000 > Now i want to compare the budget (1k each month) with the production.
Same for:
Salesproject 123- 01-01-2019 - 31-05-2019 - 7.000
Salesproject ABC- 01-07-2019 - 31-12-2019 - 2.000
Any ideas how I could compare this in chart?
I hope you guys can help me. If anything is unclear please let me know.
Hi @Anonymous ,
I still have a little confused about your requirement.
I would like to compare my production to my budget in different months by different projects. I would like to make a graph to compare the production per month to the budget per month per project.
What do you want to calculate in power bi?
In addition, what isdoes your data look like and what is the desired output?
Do you have the different tables for production and for the budget?
If it is convenient, could you describe your logic in more details so that we could help futher on it?
Best Regards,
Cherry
Hi Cherry,
Thanks for your repley. Ill try to explain my problem more clearly.
I have 1 table with the following columns:
in this table each row is a project. The amount in projectbudget has to be spread between projectstartdate and projectenddate.
in my second table i have the following data:
In this table each time entry is a seperate row.
Now what I want to see is the budget spread over the right time periode (projectstart-enddate) compared to the Actual Value. I want to make a graph with on the X-axis the months and as value the budget for that month for a project (filtered) and the Actual Value.
I hope this makes things more clearly. If not please let me know.
