Calculate YTD total when monthly costs change

I'm  trying to create a measure that will calculate total cost per contact by month. Trouble is, the CPC changes MoM, so the measure needs to be a bit dynamic. At this point, I've created a simple table that has the CPC by month and written the following:
Monthly Estimated Savings = CALCULATE([Estimated Deflections] * SELECTEDVALUE('Consumer Cost Per Call'[Cost Per Call],0)
The Cost per Contact table looks like this:

Date

Cost per Contact
Jan7.02
Feb7.34
Mar6.80
Apr6.84

This works fine when the Date is provided as the Filter Context. However, if I try to put this measure in a gauge visual so that the total savings is displayed, I get nothing, presumably due to the fact that there isn't a filter context being provided.

My question is (A) is there a better way to write the first measure? and (B) if not, how do I get the totals to display? I need to have the sum of the Estimated Savings for a number of visuals, so just having the amount in a matrix won't suffice. Any help would be much appreciated!

hi  @Anonymous

This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See this post about it
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376

Also, this Quick Measure, Measure Totals, The Final Word should get you what you need:

For your case, just create a new measure like this

New measure=SUMX(VALUES('Date'[Month]),[Monthly Estimated Savings])

or

New measure =
VAR __table = SUMMARIZE('Date',[Year],[Month],"__value",[Monthly Estimated Savings])
RETURN
SUMX(__table,[__value])
