Calculate Measure for rows matching criteria and if row is blank put 0

Hello,

When I use a calculated column to count the number of times a criteria is met in a column, I get circular reference errors.

I want to count the number of times a word is used (using countrows then filtering) and if the row is blank, to have power bi display 0

I figured it out using a column giving 1/0 responses then adding the ones. thanks!
