COVID-19 Report

HI,

I need to create a real time COVID-19 power BI report.

I couldn't find any API that gives me live data.

Can anyone help me out with the API or any other data sources?

Thank you.

Finally, I found a workaround to get live COVID data to Power BI Desktop and Service.

The problem with using web URL is that the dataset refresh doesn't work when we publish the report to services. However, refresh works in Power BI desktop.

In order to fix this, I populated the data in google spreadsheet using =IMPORTHTML("https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/","Table") and then used spreadsheet as a data source in Power BI.

Now, I have no issues with data refresh in the service as well as desktop.

Thank you.

Re: COVID-19 Report

Hi @sandesh043

You can use this website as a data source.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Please see the attached file with 2 tables connected, data as of now + yesterdays data.

Please consider sharing your file if possible.

Best Regards,
Mariusz

Re: COVID-19 Report

@Mariusz  In fact, I had already tried this option. Unfortunately, the refresh doesn't work when we publish the report to service.

The refresh works only in power Bi desktop.

Not sure how to fix this.

Thank you anyway, please let me know if you have any suggestion to fix the refresh dataset issue.

Re: COVID-19 Report

New options -> Google spreadsheet:

=IMPORTHTML("https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/";"table";1)

or

=IMPORTHTML("https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/","table",1)

Works without the need to update
