CONTAINSSTRING not avaialble when Directly Connected to TDM

2019-08-19_13-28-29.pngWhy is CONTAINSSTRING not Available when you Direct Connect to a Tabular Data Model but is available With a Local Data Model? is this a bug. I can Add Measures to My Direct Connect Model, so why can't I use this function?

Because DAX measures are executed by the engine that is hosting the data model. Containsstring is a brand new function that is only available in Power BI and SSAS 2019 CTP 2.3 or later (see https://dax.guide/containsstring/) 

 

So if you are connecting to SSAS 2017 or earlier it will not have this function available.
