Button to show expense allocations?

I have a simple Excel that keeps track of spending. Once the budget has been allocated for a specifc project I add the amout in a column called "Allocated". Not sure the best way to add a button that will change the dashboard to only show those items that have budget allocated to them.

Thanks for all your help!

How about adding the column "Allocated" to the "Filters on this page" section of the Filter pane? Then if you filter blank values it will give you a view of this without a budget allocated, or if you filter to exclude blank values you will update the page to show all values with a budget allocated.

Hi @cmajewsk ,

There are several approaches to this:

One, you can use bookmarks to toggle between different views or pages or state of visuals.

Two, you can create a measure that toggles between different measures when a slicer item from a column in a disconnected table (no relationship with other tables) is selected.  You can create this table by either using the Enter Data feature or by creating a calculated table using DAX.
Here's sample pbix https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_mCOCfah38ZRBLzsZlkEym-Wg0KuzMlX/view?usp=sharing

It's getting that view - that is what I want. A bookmark comes after.

The second option just from reading it sounds highly advanced. Once I have access to Onedrive (blocked at my current location) I will give this a try. Thanks!

Great idea. Added the colum to the filter and made the filter anything over 0, then added it as a bookmark. So it was a combinatation a a couple of great ideas here. Thanks again everyone.

You could then create two bookmarks based on teh two filter states, ensuring that the "Data" option in the bookmarks is ticked.
