Hello,
I have a super simple dataset (just 12 integers with rows for category and sampling) that I am using for box and whisker chart visual. The same dataset I used in excel and got different results for quartiles (using QUARTILE function) and median. Could somebody help me to understand how quartiles are calculated in PBI visual or what could be causing this difference?
Hi NINO,
QUARTILE() use three points that divide a set of values into four equal groups, each group comprising a quarter of the data. However, there's no such function in power bi, as a workaround, i would recommend you to use PERCENTILE.INC or PERCENTILE.EXC to achieve your requirement. A similar case for your reference: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/How-do-you-slice-data-into-quartiles-and-quintiles/td-p/157....

Hello Jimmy,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I am having problems with the Box and Whisker Chart visual that should calculate quartiles for summarizing data. However, I am not getting right results. I am just interested what is the proper use of this particular visual.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Nino

<-- Could you give more details about your expected requirement?
