I have got a report with a Slicer A , Visual B and a text filter at page level C.
I want to create a bookmark which applies a selected value on Filter C - say C1 on visual B without including any data / filter from A.
So if a user selects
Slicer A as A1 + bookmark -> he should see A1 data filtered by C1
Slicer A as A2 + bookmark -> he should see A2 data filtered by C1
I tried
1) creating a bookmark with C1 filter --> Works fine
2) rename it to user-friendly name --> works fine
3) updating it with selected visuals
4) selecting with mouse hover to include only B visual and exclude A
5) selecting "update" on bookmark-> --> complete bookmark stops working .
Please help on proper steps to the same
HI @Anonymous,
AFAIK, the bookmark feature is used to save the current selection of a specific report page. (normally it used to restore saved filter selections)
Create bookmarks in Power BI Desktop to share insights and build stories
It was not able to save dynamic selections or interact with external filter effects. (even if you use sync slicer, the bookmark will also save current sync slicer filter)
AFAIK, you can only use a measure filter with dynamic DAX functions(e.g today, username) to achieve a dynamic bookmark.
For example:
If you set 'today' function in your filter, the bookmark will save this 'today' filter and enabled today filter based on the current system date. (so if you click it at 4/16, it will apply filter with 4/16, this value will change to 4/17 at tomorrow)
