Blank dates in PowerBI report

Hi all,

I'm having some struggles with the data, date and date table. I have a data set connected with the date table, but in the visualisation the slice filter shows the option "Blank", instead of recognising the hierarchy filter.

Selecting "Blank" shows the results, but selecting for example the year 2018 returns in a blank graph.

I think I'm overlooking something, but I have no clue.

Thanks in advance!

The Date field from Date table won't match the Date field from the dataset because they are datetime fields. In the Date table all times are 0:00:00 but not in the dataset. Only datetimes with the same hour in the dataset will match. You will see the rest as blank.

So you need to transform the type of those columns to Date.

Then there are two options?

  1. Change the date table to the same interval 15 minutes
  2. Change the dataset to hourly

Hi @bk1990,

Most probable cause for this kind of error is there are spaces before or after the values in the column which you use to join the 2 tables.

Do check that out....
