Hi,
I am using Power Bi with a Live connection to Azure Analysis Services. Thus binning and grouping is not supported.
I would like to understand if there is a way to work around this limitation.
My scenario. I have transactional data. Every transaction has a value (value per transaction). I need to bin this value and count the transaction that fall into that bin. E.g. 10-20 USD = 20 Transactions, 20-30 USD 100 Transactions and so forth.
Is there a way to achieve this?
Hoping someone can help me out here.
Best,
P.
Hey,
I'm wondering if this
https://www.daxpatterns.com/static-segmentation/ or this
https://www.daxpatterns.com/dynamic-segmentation/
provides what you are looking for.
I guess it will be necessary, that you create the table that contains the buckets in your source system.
Regards,
Tom
Hi,
and thanks for the prompt reply.
The problem is that I don't have access to the source system. And also I'd like to be flexible and play around with the bin boundaries. Therefore I am seeking a solution that can work on client side.
Best,
P
