Bar chart log scale

I created a horizontal bar chart with a drill down feature. The visualization shows the quantity of products sold at different levels of classification hierarchies.

I need to use a logarithmic scale on the x-axis, but that doesn't appear to be an option (the only option is "linear" for "Scale Type").

If I change the visualization type to "Line Chart", then I have the option of a Log Scale.

Is this feature just not implemented yet?

Hi @Anonymous,

Based on my research, Log scale type is not available in bar charts and column charts currently.

The log axis option in bar charts is available after you enter 1 for the minimum value. See image below:

This should have been automatic, not required manual entry for minimum value!

Try a column chart and see if that gives you the log option on Y-axis.

I don't work for Microsoft so I don't know if it not implemented yet or deliberatly left out but generally speaking all types of visuals have or can have different attributes. An attribute on one type of visual does not have to be on other type of visuals. So even though there is log scale on the line graph there might never be one on the bar chart.

If you need it and think it makes sense you should submit it as an idea at ideas.powerbi.com and try to get people to vote it up.
