BW SSO with Power BI: sapms<sid> service not found

Hi,

We are trying to use SAP Connector 2.0 to link PowerBI with our BW system. We are trying to incoporate the message server details(to take advantage of load balancing) but we end up with the error , now as a quick resort I understand the entry

sapms<SID>  <messageserver_port>/tcp needs to be maintained in the services filefile(location:C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) , but here in our case we have several users and we cannot ask everybody to make this change, is there a way this can be surpassed ?

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in reply, yes the thing you mentioned actually worked for a single user( we added the entry sapms<SID> <port>/tcp to the services file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc location), but we are planning to roll this out to a larger set of end users involved, we cannot edit this entry in every single users pc... is there a way we can surpass this via the .pbids file ? Is there any setting we can accomodate in .pbids file  ? We are planning to pass on the .pbids file to the end users so that they dont have to add each connection of sap ( as a data source ) manually .

Kindly suggest.

Regards,

Hi @Anonymous

From the error message, it seems it's SAP BW connection issue. then after my search, it seems that there is no way to bypass the maintenance from the local.

Also I would suggest you post a thread in SAP BW forum because they are more expert or contact your SAP BW administrator.
