Sorry if this issue is already solved somewhere but I could not find a solution. I am having a problem here and I would appreciate any help.
I followed Azure Tutorial of how to set up an IoT Hub and an IoT Edge temperature sensor module and now the system is sending all the sensor data into my Blob Storage. From the Blob I am able to bring the data into Power BI Desktop but all the data is in one column. See my screenshot attachments.
Is there a simple way of separating the data from one column into many different columns? I would like to have different columns for device name, time stamp, machine temperature, machine pressure, ambient temperature and ambient humidity. Eventually I want to make a graphical diagrams from the data.
Thanks in advance.
JT
Hi @mestari,
Please try to store data at the edge with SQL Server databases, then, fetch data with SQL Server connector in Power BI desktop. That case, you will directly load common table structure into desktop.

Hi Yuliana and thanks for the reply.
The reason I am getting familiar with Azure IoT possibilities is because we are building a large IoT system to the company I work for. And the company has recommended to use Blob storage instead of SQL database since SQL is so much more expensive.
I'm wondering if real temperature and humidity sensors would provide better column structures to Blob storage than this simulated temp-sensor module I am currently using for research.

I am lifting this thread up once more.
If I don't get any help now with this Blob Storage, I will look into different storage alternatives.
