How do I avoid long waiting times when publishing a (shared) dataset?
Every time an adjustment (even the slightest) needs to be made in the shared dataset, the entire .pbix file has to be published all over. Especially when you want to adjust the name of a column it seems unnecessary to deploy the entire dataset and wait voor extended periods of time...
Any tips about this?
Thanks!
Hi, @Anonymous
I'd like to suggest you import files from OneDrive or SharePoint Online into the Power BI service, which is a great way to make sure your work in Power BI Desktop stays in sync with the Power BI service. These changes can include adding new measures, changing column names, or editing visualizations. Once you save the file, Power BI service syncs with those changes too, usually within about an hour.
For further information, you may refer to the following documents.
Refresh a dataset stored on OneDrive or SharePoint Online
Connect to files stored in OneDrive for your Power BI workspace
Best Regards
Allan

However, I want to reduce the waiting time even more (<5mins).
Perhaps it's an option to work with a dataset with a limited amount of rows in it based on a paramater. For example if paramater subset is set to yes, a top 1000 is loaded and if not the entire dataset is loaded.
Any thoughts on this?
