Automating reports from different Excel file

Hi,

 

I have found a lot of information on how to refresh data in Power Bi that comes from Excel but how about the situation when the Excel is not the same than the original? So every year there is Excel with updated data taken from ERP and that should be compared to previous year's data, how to do the same charts, for example, from this new Excel with the help of Power Bi? Has anyone done anything like this?

Hi @jasonmal

I'm afraid it is not possible to change data sources automically.

You can change data source on Edit Queries->Data Source settings->change sources.

Thanks for answers. The thing here is to somehow automate this report so that with some script? I could be able to import Excel data to create same graphs than previously. This excel is yearly changing data from an erp

why not add the data and create a new table? then you can compare and do the same graphs.
