Automatically create charts based on specific columns or values

Hi,

Is it possible to automatically create x number of charts and tables based on x number of columns?

E.g.

Category

Q1 Score

Q2 Score

Q3 Score

Q4 Score

Q5 Score

There will be more Qx score columns added later on and named sequentially as Q6 Score, Q7 Score and so on.

I would like a report to automatically create one chart and one table for each of the Q Score columns with line chart if there are values on both category and pie chart if only one category has values.

This is how the report would look like if there's only 2 score columns

I hope it's possible in power bi. If not, is it possible in excel or at least create a excel macro for this?

Thank you!

Hi,

Using the Query Editor, select the first 2 columns, right click and click on "Unpivot Other columns".  That should be your starting point for building all visuals.

I did it using small multiples before but it only shows one type of chart.

Some of this is possible using Small Multiples.  But you will be much better off teaching your users how to personalize visuals.
