Auto recovered files not showing visuals

Hi all,

My PC crashed last night and when I opened my auto-recovered version this morning, only the data and table relationships were stilll there. Unfortunately, I had several hours worth of unsaved dashboard making, and all of that appears to be gone (even though it says it autosaves every 10 minutes). I have noticed this issue in the past, but usually it was only for a small amount of work so I had thought nothing of it.

Any ideas?

Thanks~

Hi @Anonymous ,

Here are some things that you can probably try:

1. Download the pbix file from services; This will give you atleast all those visuals and layouts that were published last

2. Create a save as copy of current pbix with issue and check if it runs properly

3. If you have blanks visuals being shown, pull out the columns from fields and try to again pull them

4. Check if this is a known issue: Link

5. If you have PRO license, create a support ticket with Power BI: Link

Give a thumbs up if this post helped you in any way and mark this post as solution if it solved your query !!!

@Anonymous You could check the Issues forum here:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".

I see that you are a New Member so while it doesn't apply to your situation, you may find this information helpful in the future. There is a common issues list here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
