There is an issue when you try to change data colors in Treemap , doesn't allow and immediately rolls back to default given colors.
Doesn't seem to affect any other visual..Haven't tried all.
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Greg_Deckler @Seth_C_Bauer @Sean There is a new version 2.34.4372.501 for download that fixed the issue and probably some other bugs.
I'm not seeing this @konstantinos, wondering if it is a bug in a regional version?
@Greg_Deckler Strange..Not sure if there is different versions for download based on region.
I will install it again and also try different regions and language on settings
Let you know.
@konstantinos@Greg_Deckler Just to throw this in here, is this just a test case, or is it part of a larger report. And are you using any custom visuals in the report? (My random thought) Issues with custom viz could be impacting other report viz's.
Just to make sure I am attempting to replicate this correctly, I click on the treemap, click on the paintbrush, data colors and change one of the colors. I even tried using a custom color and that seemed to work as well. I only changed two of the colors, I have about 50 boxes in this particular tree map. Is that the correct process to attempt to replicate the issue?
@Greg_Deckler Yes this is exact the issue.. attach a video..
@Seth_C_Bauer Tried both with old reports and also create a new test file. ( video )
I uninstall and install again..
@konstantinos I get the same odd behaviour. Checked my version 2.34.4372.322 64-bit (April 2016) - re-downloaded the latest from the PBI site and it was the same. It gave option to "repair", so I did, and I rebooted, but the same behaviour persists. And the version number is the same, so no change on that front.
I can confirm this too! Won't let me change assign new colors!
Obviously a bug - While waiting to fix - Convert to a pie - assingn new colors - change back to tree map - colors seem to stick.
@Sean Thanks for confirm @Seth_C_Bauer remembered the trick with the card visual and label..
What is the best way to report bug ? - I send bug reports with smiley icon and not support ticket for these issues
Ah, so, when I tested my treemap, I converted it from a bar chart, so maybe that is why it worked for me first time.
@Greg_Deckler @Seth_C_Bauer @Sean There is a new version 2.34.4372.501 for download that fixed the issue and probably some other bugs.
This issue is fixed for the Treemap but is still an issue for any Bar or Column chart.
To reproduce:
Create a Bar or Column chart on your report. Add a data source
Go in to formatting and change the data colour
the colour changes on the colour picker (but not the visual) for a few milliseconds then reverts back to what it was.
Change the visual to a Treemap - changes can be made.
Change back to a Column or Bar chart and the colour can't be changed.
Version: 2.46.4732.581 64-bit (May 2017)
@konstantinos Nice! Thanks for the updated.
@konstantinos I haven't done the smiley in awhile, I always just submit a basic support ticket for low impact (non-work around) bugs. I'll use our O365 support service tickets for bigger problems.
@Seth_C_Bauer Same version. Just tried change it to a pie chart ( hate it 🙂 ) and then change colors and revert back to treemap and worked. Not in the first try though.
@konstantinos HA!. Nice, the old "change the visual, and change it back" trick. If you haven't yet, still file a bug.
