Apply business rules

Hi everyone!

I have a doubt. Can I apply business rules to a data set in PowerBI?

Example: In my data set I have a fact/sales table and the master tables for each dimension (Product, Company, Brand, etc.) I wish to have a data set with all the sales, and modify it with some business rules. A business rule would be to eliminate all the sales of Brand XX from Company XXX. A other rule could be, the sales of Product ZZZ from Company GGG must be moved to Company HHH.

How can I perform this in PowerBI?

Hi @hfoth,

Based on my understand, I don't think it will be easy to achieve this in Power BI. You'd better to do it on your data source. You can cleaning your data before loading into data warehouse. And then use this data warehousr as the data source of your Power BI report.

Yes, doing it in the DataWareHouse whas one of my options. In fact, many business rules are solved there. The problem is that some rules are only for visualization in a specific scenario. Example, when having a monthly meeting for showing the months sales.
