Apply a chart's axis field as a report filter

Hi,

I have a bar chart which uses a week-end date as a time period in X axis. This is used as a page level filter as well, so as I can select various sdates and reflect that in the chart. However, I'd like to use this Week-End date field as a report level filter, so as when I filter different dates this is relfected to the chart and the other tables of the report as well.

Is this possible? Any ideas would br much appreciated.

Thanks

You can have a column be both a report level filter and a page level filter by just dragging it to the page and report level filters area. Am I missing something?

Thanks @Greg_Deckler. Basically yeah, ignore this. I would be great if I could have a slider which would be used to change the time periods on the X axis and also filter the rest of the rerport. This Week End field is in text format

Did you try using Slicer for that matter?

@harrinho it is not very clear what you mean by it doesn't work at all.

Did you looked at the solution proposed by @Greg_Deckler? If you use report level filter, it should filter all the reports.

Thanks @parry2k. I mean the custom visual for slicer that I downlaoded didn't work. @Greg_Deckler's solution is fine, but the week days I want to filter is a very long list and not user friendly. That's why I'd like to have a slicer to be able to slice and dice the time periods. This is a text field so I don't know how feasible this is.

Other thatn that, yeah @Greg_Deckler is right

Thanks for the clarification. I guess custom visual you downloaded, it need date field as value to slice the data not your week column, not sure if that is what you doing currently.

Did you tried relative filtering using regular slicer on date field?

I did try to use a date field but the slicer didn't show anything, was completely blank. Didn't try further, will try to save some time to do this again
