Hello power bi experts,
I've had this in my head for a while and now I'd like to ask you if there is someone that has done something similar.
I'm using one data source, connecting to a database by using "Import" data connectivity mode within power bi desktop. My end goal is to create an Inventory trendline over time. Basically, number of items in warehouses on a given date (there isn't much data granularity 3-4 dimensions/columns top including warehouse, client,Snapshot date and maybe one more). This, I can accomplish by running the query daily and append data each day. However, I wanted to know if there is a way in power bi to do this automatically? Take a snapshot every day and append data - bulding a trendline out of these snapshots.
My IT department folks were against creating a job in a database that would take a snapshot every day and write it back to a custom table in the database that I would then be able to query. Any other solution or workaround?
